Hmmm okay well there are several things that make this class good.

They only need three attacks, but you would look at taking some skills away from the warriors and making them swashbuckler skills.

Counterstrike can be toned down and given to Swashbucklers only as riposte and make it so it has a chance of happening every round. What I mean a riposte takes an attacks and counters it to cause more damage to the opponent.

Swashbucklers need to be different from the warriors.
and Dual wield needs to be looked at as being anble to wield the weapons in left and right hands and losing the use of sheild and hold. Not sure how that would work as far as the code.

Dual wield should be a level 10 ish skill for swashbucklers
and third attack should come around level 60ish. With two attacks at lev 20 that gives them a possibility of 4 attacks per round. Enhanced damage should kick in around mid 20's.

Parry should be looked at to only work on weapons, and enhanced parry to work vs fists.

Hmmm now that I am on a role.... They weight and weapon limitations should fall in the sense that you have to train to use a specific type of weapon. And some classes just can't train a certain type of weapon.

Of a Battle mage is created like a Warmage in the Terry Goodkind novels. then maybe they could use a sword, but for the most part mages never used swords. And swashies really should be able to use only daggers and swords. not like a ranger with a staff and a dagger, staffs usually take two hands to use effectively in comabt.

The Swashie dual wield should not be off hand, it should actually be im each hand .



Taunt instead of warcry as a skill, and possible using bravery too as a swashie skill. Taunt for duellers would taunt thir enemies coinstantly in battle. And bravery, well they supposodley took more chances than most.

I was trying to think of other stuff, i hope some people have mroe ideas.

Something else I was thinking, the wieght restriction of the weapons for swashies should be removed. They should be able to hol,d two weapons of equal wieght as a equalizer for losing the bonuses from hold and shield.

Yes I suppose I am making this my baby, I think it would be a nice differentiation from other muds. Perhaps name it Duellist class. *shrug* I like swashbucklers.

This class should be restricted to Humans, half-elfs,and maybe drow and elves.

Maybe even restrict it more. No giants and the like, their modifiers should not affect strength at all like Jama said, perhaps split the typical warrior bonuses to CON and DEX so they are hardier for the move in combat so much, and are more dexterious cause they have to be quick on their feet with no shield to protect them.
