I have never heard my summer tyres rub the wheel arches, even on full lock; but your reply supports Peugeot's reason for fitting smaller winter tyres (to leave more room for chains). What size are your tyres ?

Approved tyres for the V6 in Germany -
summer: 215/55 16
winter: 205/50 16

i.e. winter tyres are 16mm smaller (outer radius) and the car is this much lower on the ground. It doesn't sound a lot, but unfortunately it was enough of a difference to scrape the bottom of the car going into an underground garage. Plus, speed-/mile-ometer are out by 5%.

Drazen, I know that winter tyres are usually narrower for better "bite" into snow (and sometimes to leave more room for chains in the arches), but they are not usually smaller in diameter.
