Bloodmoon's roars of Gryff's odd speaking and how the Lennon wasn't made for Orks were getting on Pete's nerves.

Pete gripped the controls, too much on his mind to reply to Dark Star. Bill was out there; unfortunately, so were Carl and Siegfried. He'd actually lost a knight and a drone he himself programmed.

"It's not your fault, it's not." Gryff mumbled.

"What?"

"It's tha author's. Tha Puppet-Masta's. It was his plan, it was. Part of a bloomin' story. It's all fo' 'is amusement, it is. Not too fond of it, I'm not. S'why I wanna get out."

"Get out? What are you talking about?"

"I said it befo', I did, we's not real! But I can get to the otha' side, I can! Tha Puppet-Masta's disconnected; I can explain it, I can.

If we can write our own post, we can escape to tha real world! Tha Puppet-Masta gets back too soon, he does. But I've been workin' on me writing. We's gonna escape, we is."
