Subject: He sailed into the docking bay.....
In reply to: Top Gun 's message, ""Star Raider..."" on 16:46:34 09/06/01 Thu

Hearing his team-mates good-natured laughter, Phantom gunned his engines, transformed and sailed into the docking bay in robot mode. The second he passed the threshold he was seized by the artificial gravity net and dropped quickly to the floor. His forward momentum, however, kept him going and so Phantom "surfed" several metres across the docking bay floor.

The other members looked at the newbie and laughed. Shouts of "nice landing!" and "someone put some oil down next time!" echoed across the metal expanse of the docking bay. Phantom, for his part, took a bow and joined his team-mates.

"Talk about a trial by fire....." Top Gun said, looking around at the assembled team members.

"I certainly hope they aren't all like this." Phantom smiled at his leader, still a little amazed that he hadn't embedded himself in the far wall of the docking bay, or hit a stray toolbox and went sprawling across the deck.

"I wonder if they were able to repair FawnDoo?" Hurricane asked, frowning a little.

So soon after the combination into Orion, the team still had a small resonance field about them - they could still "feel" each others thoughts, though it diminished with each passing second. What rippled through the team now was a sense of satisfaction of a job well done, concern for those injured and.......something else lurked. Something not often seen in Team Orion. Someone was afraid of something. None of the team members could have identified the emotion, the residual effects of the joining were fading so fast, but it was there nevertheless. Fear.
