Darkstar had said little on their journey back to the bridge, and Ebonhawk even less. He could scarcely imagine what his targetmaster partner might be going through and, though Mercado had proven on inummerable occasions his proficiency for handling himself, Ebonhawk couldn't help worrying. The Electriad, the TLA, (,@\_\/@#\20\/\, the WR@, Lighdia, the God-Emperor of Arrakis--historically it seemed the pair got into the worst trouble when apart.

It was too much to dwell on, and his remark cut the silence for all too brief a moment before he was lost in thought once more.

"Merc 'n me've survived shockin' a lot. So why do I feel like I've lasted longer than I ought've? Is it th'natural fatalist in me, or some kinda shockin' instinct that things're gonna go real south, real quick? Merc ain't been right since his frail up and melted inta one'a those dark portals o' hers. Shockin' Lighdia--sure as shock got a score to settle there. Then again, that shockin' Rana's on th'top o the list. Kid said he could handle it, but how do I know he ain't under some shockin' spell? I don't buy 'Mr. WR@'s' frail old fleshling bit fer a sec--there's more there than meets the eye, and when they get back...we're gonna find out what.

I just wish I could shake the feeling that something real big, and real bad, might be just around the corner..."

The lift continued its arduous task of transporting the pair of Decepticons back to the bridge...
