General freedom from existential tyranny and oppression, I believe, is the general consensus of what we "fight" against.

Physical laws that govern us may be something we just have to deal with. Self inflicted slavery is partly where we're at now, but if you're talking about intimately enslaving yourself, then that is seriously up to the individual.

There isn't a Nike factory worker in the world who is so privileged that he can even think of freedom in philosophical or ridiculous, abstract terms. He just doesn't want to be in that factory anymore.
