Role-playing helps you with many skills. Before I joined RPGs, I didn't know anything about computers. Now, I know more than my dad, and he is the one who fixes ours when it is broken.

Role-playing also helps with social skills. You learn how to communicate better, and how to better out your thoughts down on paper, because obciously, you can't talk to one another verbally. You also make a ton of new "friends".

Another major GOOD thing about Role-playing via the 'Net is it REALLY improves your writing. Before I started RPing, my writing was...well... not that great. Now, it's a lot better. For example, earlier on this year, in February or so, I started getting a TON of papers to write from my English teacher. I got a 2 out of 2 on conventions and a 4 out of 4 in content on all of them!!!! AKA, perfect paper. Scratch "Hooked on Phonix", have your kids join an RPG!!!

Finally, the reason she may not let you read some of her messages is, well, they are kinda personal. They aren't bad or anything, though. You just wouldn't understand. For example, if you read a message that went,

She leaps playfully on her sister's back, and bites lightly on her scruff. Then, she leaps off, and picks up a nearby stick. Growling playfully, she starts to run off. "Betcha you can't get it!" She giggles.

You probably wouldn't get it, right? That is just a classic puppy post. Just because she doesn't want you to read her messages doesn't mean they are bad, as I said. If you don't believe me, get a list of your daughter's characters, and look all over the site for messages she has posted.
