Subject: The Reason

First off this is a a story on how RPing helped me in many ways.

When I was little I was often fascinated with canines of all types. I even memorized all the dog breeds at age 7. Soon after that when me and my dad went on walks and see a dog I would point out the breed and tell him all I knew about that specific breed. I also -in rare cases- was able to guess what breeds were in a mixed breed.

Later on in our local bookstore I stumbled upon the famous 'zoo books' magazines. (I was about 8 at the time) and I found the wolf one. Then I asked my mom if she could buy it. I guess she figured it learning so she bought it.

I read that book everday. I loved it. I would even go into the encyclopedia looing for wolves in there too. So I found my love for canines, and at even a young age my future career. A vet. Yet of course my career ideas have changed drasticly over the years. Vets, doctors, breeders. Now I have one that I truly like and wish to stay with until my mind changes again. An Author. Of course I don't know of what, since I am only 14.

Anyways I grew up and I loved wolves. They were a highlight to me. My mom even let me rent educational videos on them. I know it's hard to beleive but in elementary school on my free time I would watch national geographic wolves.

The years passed at that. My highlights in school. The teacher reading my stories out to the class. I was always imaginative. Becoming a better artist, of canines of course.

Then when I hit great 12. I finally found a way to get on the internet without my parent's help. As I surfed the net I went into chatrooms. One chatroom I liked and I chatted in there for a few days until one member said they were going to 'wolf home'.

A very famous chat in the RPing world. She happily gave me the adress and I went there, joined, and I chatted there for a couple months.

If you are unsure of WolfHome is is a visual based chat. The backrounds are different habitats, and you are a picture in the backround. The pictures were wolves. Of course you can pick odd and random colors for your wolves. I still enjoyed it very much. Chatting, while being my favorite creature.

Well one day WH ran into some trouble with the server and was down temporarily. They had a forum at that time and some unhappy users were complaining becuase they wanted to chat. One person -my guess an RPer- yelled at them. She then diverted their attention and told them about Midnight Wolves. My very first RPGing site.

When I first went to Midnight Wolves I was baffled to what to do. I thought that the people were stupid for *throwing sticks at each other* or *growling for submission*. So I asked on the Main Board what the place was.

You wouldn't beleive it if I told you but in a week 10 people replied cheerfully explaining what RPing was. One post had a defenition that clearly sticks out in my mind.

"A world where one's imagination shows them their destination as another kin"

My translation of that may be different to yours but the idea the same.

I stood back that day after reading all those posts and I realized that this was the type of thing that I enjoy doing. My fun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That was just how RPing helped me by letting me become my favorite animal.
Now the reasons she should stay in this flourishing environment is simple.
~Imagination- It's not healthy to lock her imagination away. You should be proud that she is one of the few children in this world that is able to make up a character, and have that character deal with things in this fantasy world.
~Moods- RPing not only is a fun thing I enjoy doing. It is also my cyber-stress-ball. Most people can tell clearly what my mood is by how my character (character is the wolf you play or create) is acting. She may be using Skoki and other RPGing sites to releive her stress, but don't take it away, and don't try to help her yourself. This is a perfectly healthy way to cope with your moods.
~Grammar- The beginning of my 7th grade year, my grammar and LA was horrible. But towards the end it changed and I got better. My D's turned to B's.
~Careers- I imagine that imbedded in these characters are future vets, *authors*, site creators, screenplay writers, the list is endless...
So all I have to say is that RPing changed my life, his life, her life, and I bet that in some way it changed your duaghters life too.
Sincerely,
FireStorm
