You know Schwabra….

As of late, I have taken sort of a new outlook on things in terms of history and stories and even legends. I no longer try to focus so much on whether a story is true or not, but what the lesson of the story is and if it sparks the imagination. If there is a story or legend or whatever and has a valuable lesson in it that makes me realize something or teaches a lesson that enables me to better my life, that is what mattes to me.

It’s like when going to the movies and people get to wrapped up into the details and miss the actual point. Last week, I watched Stars Wars 1 and 2, each one twice and I’ve found that it has captured wisdom because some of the things that Yoda says and some of the Jedi say is very wise.

Stars Wars may not be based on a real life story but who cares! I’ve seen that certain aspects of spirit is captured in moves. One movie captures the negative side of humans, another side captures the inspiration and drive, another the imagination, etc etc etc but I’ll watch a movie and see what lesson there is because I’ve learned that when you sit and closely watch a movie, you’ll be surprised at the hidden wisdom that it can project.

I’m also bringing this up because when I look at bible fundies, they seem to miss the point I raised above and I can say that because I was a bible found once, believing that every word in the bible was true. That only stemmed from my own insecurity in myself and my fear to learn new things because I was so afraid that what I might learn might be false. So what do you do from that fear?

You don’t go out and learn anything! I once heard a wise man say that we truly do need to rid of our own fears that hold us back. If anyone has that kind of fear, they’ll always limit themselves.

I even look at Paul here and not to be rude here, but I see that limit and lack of belief in Paul. I look at the responses and I see so little wisdom and simply repetitious messages. I wonder why Paul even bothers to read anything or even type anything out when he could simply have a page of the same responses (10 or 12) and then just keep copy and pasting them over and over again. It would at least make sense because what’s the point of typing out the same thing over and over again. Paul does not realize it, but what he does it drive a person away from him and what he says in the end.

But this is what insecurity creates from what I have seen. Instead of trying to learn something, question something or even discuss something, people will push something as absolute truth and won’t know why. They won’t be able to discuss deeply why something is true and WHY they believe it is true. The thought that they might even be wrong won’t click in their mind.

You can tell how well a person understand WHY they believe in something based on how deep of a response they get and how well of a discussion they can carry on about what they believe or even questions raised towards them. When I see rather shallow and repetitious responses, I don’t think I have to explain what that tells me!

But it’s as you said, people need to find something in the bible so badly that they will pervert things.
