For all relationships we can only define our part in them. I could choose to end my part in the relationship, refuse to live up to expectations, or not follow the cultural demands of the role I am supposed to play.

That is the same with our relationship with God. We can only choose our side of the relationship. God has allowed us to do this. But what are the consequences of our decisions? To each choice we are responsible because it impacts both sides.

Even God. If we choose to ignore Him, we affect His creation.
