She faltered for a moment before finding some words. "Well... congratulations, then!" But she resolved to mention newlywed counselling for the two of them. He sought the approval of his parents in their eyes - he knew that they would be skeptical - he was skeptical himself about it sometimes - they were both very young and their relationship had just gotten over a shaky patch but he had never been more sure about his future before today. "And I'll be done with school by then, so it won't distract me from my schooling." He said, teasingly - he hoped that Lacey didn't feel responsible but knew it would be a question that may have crossed her mind - his tone was teasing enough to let her know it wasn't.
