Subject: Recent Southard Death

Hello to all,
I was playing on the net, when I came across this site. Very interesting. I'm 28, and I've only met two people in my life who have our last name. From what I've seen on this site, it seems that a large majority of Southards are from the Carolinas, Georgia. I live in north Texas, and there just aren't too many of us around here. I'm interested in knowing what branch broke off and headed down here.
My great aunt, Jewelle Robinson (maiden name Southard) died this week. She was 84 and lived in Amarillo, TX. Her parents were Charles Monroe and Annie Estelle Southard. I don't know if this information is helpful to anyone--probably isn't--but I thought I'd pass it along. I know very little about my family. Most of them came from the Amarillo area. My grandfather, J.C. Southard, hitched a train and ended up in Gainesville, TX--there her met and married my grandmother.
For some reason, my family seems to reuse a lot of the same names---was wondering if it was a "Southard" thing or not...
