I'm not sure why I wasn't immediately as taken with Adam baldwin as everyone else seems to be. It's not that I disliked his work, but it didn't make me smile with pleasure, either. We'll see how he developes.

I said in Mo's Live Journal that Ice Blue Fred's dialogue sounded like Jim Morrison's bad poetry (there was actually a line about "undulating glaciers of eroticism" - if that ain't the Lizard King, I don't know what is). Despite that, I treasure every moment of Dark Wesley. I just had to tune out whenever he stopped talking.

I agree about Gunn's final act (so much more powerful if it really were final, but still). I think it was so effective in part because of the well written and played scene between Angel and Gunn in the hospital earlier in the episode, where the two discuss atonement.

I had the same reaction to Gunn's "wife" and "kid."

The suburb is Santa Clarita, which is near where Heather lives. As she said, she's always said it looked fake, and now she's got proof. This is also further evidence that everything ever made was filmed in her hometown.

I'm ticked that I missed the opening credits (my "Deadwood" addiction caused me to arrive a minute late for "Angel") because I would have been pleased by Mercedes McNabb's addition to the regular cast.

Eve finally gave me one tiny moment of pleasure when she signed the contract at the end and someone said something like, "That's it?? You said you were gonna die!" and she answered, "Well, I am - someday." That was the perfect Teenage Logic answer, which seemed appropriate to Eve's persona.

Love the analogy to walking in Vegas.
