I know it's dumb beyond belief, but they just seemed to assemble the perfect cast.

Plus, Pugsley and Wednesday just killed me in the school play...

That's a good answer.

And when we went to see it, during the scene where Wednesday has Pugsley in the electric chair and says they're going to play a game called, "Is There a God?," Grim, my sister, and myself all laughed hysterically while the rest of the audience sat there stone-faced. Which just made us laugh more.
