i'm hitting the sack soon, but just thought i'd update everyone w/what vagie vagerson, dor and i were up to tonight. first we went to kinkos and made insane copiage of the RAPE ABUSE INCEST flier. we were gonna hit up the vagina monologues next, but i guess there wasn't a show tonight, so we headed over to good ol' WEHO and went mad flier crazy insane yeah. you get the point. there was this really friendly and talkative tori/pj fan that dor talked to for a while. we were such good sales people :P i think she'll actually come. we walked up and down santa monica blvd for a while and handed out fliers then val took us to palms and we stood out there for probably 30 - 45 mins and just handed out fliers and talked to EVERYONE. it was so fucking rad. val kicked ass! i think this has been one of the more successful nights as far as promoting goes. val realized that stopping and actually talking to everyone about the event is so much more effective. most of the people were really interested, and a lot of them had heard of rainn. some people said they'd be out of town that weekend but they might donate. everyone was just super super nice. and i almost got killed by a crazy drunk lesbian photographer/teacher who thought the back of my neck needed to be pinched over and over again. that was amusing. anyway. for the future when we all go out and promote, unless the people are in a hurry, we should definitely take a few minutes to tell them more about RAINN and our event. and gay people are so nice! straight people are mean.
