Subject: I'm awaiting my first increase check too.

Good luck! I am not sure if mine's going to be on the check I receive today, or if I have to wait until next week after beginning my quest to get more money back in August. So, I'm crossing my fingers and toes that it's on today's.

I think if I were you, I'd stop doing any and all computer tech work immediately. That would obviously be a much higher paying position. And, if they want you to do that job, they need to increase your rate, give you 2 rate codes (a higher rate code for tech job time), or give you bonuses accordingly. That is the type of thing that you put in the letter to your boss, with a copy to his boss. They are not fairly compensating you for a job you are doing - a job that was not part of your original job description by any stretch of the imagination. I'd even quantify it for them. Do an estimate of the time you've put in since Day 1 doing computer tech/help desk type work and project what that would have cost them had they had fairly compensated you, had they had to take the internal chargeback hit using the corporate tech service, or had to pay an outsourced service. That is the kind of black and red information that will slap a good manager in the face, and may assure you receiving more than a $1 per hour increase, or some such amount.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
