This poem is about a creek behind my mother-in-law's apartment that has become dry due to the drought here in North Carolina.

The sun's onslaught
Has renedered your creekbed dry.
Dry creek,
You have lost your very life.
The sounds of you
Your very essence
Are but a memory.
Dry creek,
One day
Yes, one day
Your life will return.
Within the order of things
Your life must return.
