Subject: The oneness of things

Seeing today how my actions affect so many, everything I do on a daily basis, sets off a chain reaction towards others.
This came to me when feeding the birds and squirrels, in the wildlife area at the back of our garden. I don't see the point of existing for oneself, this seems utterly pointless. If I disappear tomorrow, and all I have done is look out for no:1,
I would not be missed, but if I serve and help others and live a useful life, then when I am gone, there will be a hole in life. What are your thoughts on this, open for discussion.
