Redwood looks annoyed at Collie's question, but with a glance to her son, lets him answer. Gu, one mobile ear briefly flattening, answers in a manner slightly less subdued than before. "No. We've barely gleaned the surface of Drakkan facts. We know next to nothing about them, let alone how to win their favor and thus their alliance. As to any species affiliated with them - I don't know, as I recently said. From what the Olashi and Adochi have learned, Drakka destroyed every sentient species within a wide radius of their home world. It sounds to me like no sane species would be linked with them, unless their motives matched. And if there are matching motives, cresh, then Drakka have allies and we are in deep diamen." Gu falls silent once more.

Redwood nods her broad skull once. "This scene looks a bit worse than any we've faced before. But at least we have ample warning. Time to prepare." Blunt and rude as always, the red looks directly at Collie. "I recognize your smell. Who are you? Related to Collie, an old Guardian of Terole? You smell like him." She sends a glance at Dree, and decides she doesn't particularly care about the Aya's name. Then the Governor switches her iron-blue gaze to Esaki. "And you. State your name and species, and how the dyone'd btsa do you smell so Koratian?" Sharp eyes narrow and the Korat swallows the built-up snarl, before reining in her notorious temper and giving Collie, Dree, and Esaki good hard looks. "You three are not of any rank, to my knowledge, and in fact, I know none of you. The reason I haven't chased you out of here before the briefing is this - I'm going to need help spreading this knowledge. I want all we know about Drakka to be known by every Terolian, whether they can fight or not. This excludes the few younglings that've survived on this vengeful world."

Akartis stays silent during all of this, his pale violet-grey eyes taking in the motions, actions, expressions like a video-camera, recording it all into his mind. His ears listen, taping the words and information. But his mind is elsewhere. Gu, with a glance at his brother, realizes this and before their mother can notice, carefully lifts his lip on the left side of his muzzle in a half-snarl. Akartis, startled out of his thoughts by an aggressive signal, manages not to jerk, and relaxes as he accepts his brother's warning. The absorbed information suddenly sinks in, and his eyes darken. Another war. More pain. And this one looks bad. But the tan does not allow his muzzle to droop at prospect of pain, loss, and possible death. Nor does Gu, for the younger tan is a mirror-image, mentally, of his mother, with not only her temper but her sharp wits and intense emotions, most unlike a tan. He will not bow nor break before a strong wind such as this war promises to be.
