Alrighty,

Well I've decided to go ahead and finally post all my opinions on this stuff, since next week win or lose vs. Steele, I'm going to have my hands full working TOWARDS AEL 2. Yet, I'm going a little different than most, for each award I'm going to name a couple of people "worthy" and why they should or shouldn't win....

BEST WRESTLER:

Tough one, the nominees: Victor Manson, White Tiger, Dread Saxon, Hunter Sabuani, Mr. Sinister, Tony Pride, Steve Sire, Damon Hayes, Lee Clark, Shawn Arrows...

All men who have been through the fire and back again. Yet my finalist...

Victor Manson: This man minus inactivity for about three weeks, which seemed about as long as two years, has been the epitimy of consistancy. Time in and time out, Vic Manson has been there. MWA Champion for 8 months says a lot, and even though the "defenses" were sparce, not his fault. Consistantly active, always in SOMETHING and always a top contender out of anyones mouth. The only knock against him MAY be that he hasn't one the NWC World Title yet, but who says the BEST always get what they deserve?

Steve Sire: Good Ole Boy my big ass....Some may argue that his actiity has been scarce and to them I say the same, kiss my ass. No competitor in ANY NWC Era, went through what he had to endure as champion. ONTOP of being succesful in Four defenses, he went through a TOURNAMENT at REN 98, that was pretty much geared to TAKE HIM down and he walked out the champion. His roleplaying is at worst GOOD, at BEST GREAT and on average spectacular. He unlike most, stays inside his charcter, he's a heel through and through, no flipping or flopping and along with Ray Pierce is the only man to be able to do that and do it well. The thing holding him back? The total opposite of what's holding Manson back. He's held the BIG gold, but his regional success is suspect. Yes he won the MCW's big gold and now MWA's, but all rather short reigns and all have come under TONS of contreversy.

BEST TAG TEAM:

The Nominees: The Mercenaries, The Black Ops, Maligance, The Upper Echelon, The Neo-Pod, The Outlanders, Apocalypse...

Problem with the tag division and what I've seen from everyone else's choices is simple....No one team has been consistantly "focused" on the tag ranks. Yet none the less my THREE choices are...

The Mercenaries: You cannot TELL me that getting three [I think] NWC World Tag Title shots, does not make you a CANDIATE. That shows that you're worth your salt, especially in MCW which did HOUSE some strong teams and now in HIW which holds some as well. The only knock on the Mercs is that they haven't won the big gold, and with so many chances that's what probably holds them back from winning this award...But if they win them, does that change everything?

The Black Ops- They've torn up the tag scene since day one... Two Time NWC World Tag Team Champions, without a doubt contenders if not front runners. They really have no weaknesses, except being overshadowed by their manager, whether that's a knock or not is uncertain. And also maintaining a lock on the LSW TAG Titles has been key, even with the recent loss of them, the Ops are indeed a team to be reckoned with.

The Upper Echelon- Now if you know me, you know I like to stay modest. But I'd be lieing if I said that my ego was not "shot down" a bit as I'VE SEEN ballot after ballot without this team on it. Say what you will about unity, but the award is for BEST TAG TEAM, and holding onto the NWC World Tag Team Titles for a record amount of time and never LOSING them via traditional fashion, has to count for something. Many saw this team as unbeatable, they defeated the Black Ops and Maligance and never TRULY lost the belts. The only thing holding them back was regional success, but for three months no one could slow them....NO ONE!

BEST CRUISERWEIGHT (235-):

The Nominees: Peter Aerts, Romeo Ramierez, Sid Snow, Lightning, Wasted Youth...

This catergory is kind of decieving since this hasn't really gotten FOCUS until recently....Yet none the less..

Sid Snow: Barely mentioned, but this kid is a THREE time Cruiser Weight Champion, SWF and MCW respectuvly, he's been fighting the war LONG before some of these guys were around. He's on track to win the MWA cruiser weight title making him the only cruiser to win the belt in THREE DIFFERENT and TOP REGIONS....If that doesn't deserve consideration, what does? His weakness, probably lack of big time exposure, nothing he can really do about that, since the DIVISION just now got exposure.

Lightning: Sorry Kids, say what you will for AERTS, he was the champion, but he BARELY posted and did NOTHING for the belt. Lightning has helped bring this belt to prominance and has jump started a division. He's definatly the front runner and for good reason, he has no real "weakness" except that he's not in a region as I type this, but that could change. He might not be the "longest" reigning Cruiser Weight Champion, but he damn well may be the GREATEST! He's like a KID in a CANDY STORE...Literally :-)

MOST POPULAR WRESTLER:

This award is indeed hard, because everyone is voting it as an OOC award, it's not, it's IC. And from what I know IC, faces are scarce...So here are the nominees...

Lee Clark, Dread Saxon, Soul Shadow, White Tiger, Victor Manson, Hunter Sabuani, Damon Hayes, Leo Tremane...

Lee Clark- I'd have to believe he has a fan following similar to Bret Hart in his hay day, especially in England.

Leo Tremane: The only TRUE face out of the bunch, he doesn't get much attention but should, he doesn't and won't cheat and that's a face if I've ever seen one.

MOST HATED WRESTLER:

Jesus, let me count the ways....

The nominees are: About 80% of the Council..

Ray Pierce: A True Heel, read above on what I put about Sire and multiply it by 5 and you have Ray Pierce. You just know he's hated universally and go for good reason. A heel is easy to play, a GREAT heel only few can do. Pierce is the few..

Mr. Sinister: Sire was close, but you just know people would HATE Sinister. Yes he'd probably have a cult following, but none the less he'd still be Mr. Sinister. Exactly what his name implies...

MOST IMPROVED:

I've been around since the begining and this is INDEED a tough one....I'll flake out and pass on this one, it's a toughy.

BEST NEWCOMER: (1-3 months as of AEL2)

This one has a LOT of candidates, I'll hold off on this as well....

BEST MANAGER/VALET:

The Nominees: Luther, Desade, Troy CLifton, Mack 10, Ms. Madison, among various other valets...

Desade: She's the front runner, and why not. No OTHER manager in COUNCIL history has outshined her talent, especially talent that have held onto NWC Tag Gold TWICE. Yet Desade has managed to do it, she is such a bad ass you could strat a whole match AGAINST her. Her only weakness...She doesn't manage any more, but with the mistress of the shadows, you never know whose strings she's pulling...

Troy CLifton: Yeah, Luther is gay and that's great. But how Clifton over in the MWA can be overlooked is RIDICULOUS. He's single handidly brought Europa to promincence without Europa blinking an eye lash in roleplays. Clifton is constantly involved and constantly out spoken. His only weakness, lack of national expsoure and pub....Not his fault though.

OUTSTANDING FEUD:

The Year of 1999 hasn't been kind for IC charcter fueds. So we'll have to jump back to 1998 and I can only think of two candidates...

The PoA vs. Upper Echelon: The only real "National Level" fued... Never really culminated the way everyone wanted it to, but for a long time you knew if any members of eitehr faction were around, WAR was set to happen. The only weakness on this one is that SO MANY people were involved.

Eric Rage vs. Ray Pierce: No other fued had climaxes and twist and turns like this one had and HAS. An ongoing fued and with Pierce's schemes, it could never REALLY end. Pierce couldn't wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag, but he could lie his way into Heaven. COuple that with the intensity that is Rage, and you have the FRONT RUNNER for fued of the Year.

OUTSTANDING WEEKLY SHOW:

Candidates: Genocide, Saturday Night Fever, Sunday Night Reign, Glory, Rage, Superfights, Snake Eyes, Massacre, Luau...

Pardon me if I've forgotten some, just so many. Remember this is from last July....And as much as I want to too my own horn with Reign, damn good shows, I'll go with...

Glory: Always packed with GREAT action, normally close to being on time, ad always entertaining. The GCW nows how to showcase their talent and do so every week. Along with LSW they don't need to put on Supercards every MONTH, because their strong suit is in the weekly shows.

Genocide: As someone said earlier, I dare ANYONE to knock Genocide in the Gamias era. Always TOP QUALITY, well booked and entertaining as hell. ANd even the Logan Era, has produced some great shows. The MWA's roster wasn't as deep with QUALITY stars as GCW, but it made due with the LARGE stars it's had on top and the rising ones that have been around since day one. Genocide is a front runner for me...

SPOKESMAN'S TROPHY:

Even I don't know what the hell this is....We'll say James Hill gets it because, well, he does.

GREATEST MATCH:

Man, oh Man.....There have indeed been a lot. The Devils Rumble, The PoA vs. UE War Games, Sire vs. Goliath, Every Match at FAHN2, so many.....I'll hold off comment on this, with a week left, there are still some candidtaes in the making [Cough, SteelePride, Cough] ;-)

GREATEST REGIONAL PAY-PER-VIEW EVENT:

As stated there have been a bunch, once again I'll wait until they're all said and done before I decide....Devils night 1, Cobo Slam the Finale, FAHN 2 and Big Guns all front runners...

Special Awards:

TRUE DEDICATION AWARD (REGION HEADS):

First of all the award should be split up between all region heads PAST AND PRESENT...Yet there can only be one.

David Cooper: Say what you want, but this man has ALMOST singlehandily held LSW on his shoulders since Novemeber 97. His cards aren't always on time, but their always worth while. He takes a LOT more flack than he really should, and he's usually a silent warrior.

The Commitee: They've set the standard for taking YOUNG talent and making them household names. A formula HIW is following well. The commitee is tireless and even though it's more than one person, they without a doubt deserve credit.

NWC STAFFER PLAQUE (NWC STAFF):

LOL... I'll leave this one alone, I could tell stories about this one :-)

OUTSTANDING MATCHWRITER AWARD:

This is an interesting one....And I'll go against my USUAL grain and say...

JAY: Every match he touches turns to damn gold. He has a SKILL at match writing, if you can make a match between two jobbers seem like a MAIN EVENT, then you're good.

Marcus: Yeah that's me, and I hate people who vote for themselves, which I won't. But I do think like Jay, I have a talent for writing matches. Simply because I love this SPORT especially the dramatic aspects of it. Soul Shadow vs. Dread Saxon, Soul Shadow vs. Tony Pride, Dread Saxon vs. Lee Clark at the Final Cobo Slam among many NWC PPV matches to my credit, and some MWA stuff. I enjoy booking, angiling and match writing. So it's all gravy...

EXCELLENCE IN CREATIVITY AWARD (ANY):

This should got to each and everyone who competes in this game, we're all creative, or else we wouldn't be here.

But both my nominees come from LSW and they are...

Jay: Yeah him again, this man is CONSTANTLY thinking of something new and creative, and most of the time people don;'t like it because it IS new and creative. But this man spits them out on the daily, and deserves the respect he has garnered.

Chris Schukar: Yeah, I went oldschool......The Civil War, Renassiance 98, Do you really think they just fell into laps? When Chris wants to and doesn't have me do all the damn work [Kidding] he is a creative GENIUS. The concepts that are on the NWC page are mainly because of him, always thinking and always trying to improve, definatly a candidate.

Honourable mention: Joe and Jeff as well as JIM GAMIAS.

THE HANDLER'S TROPHY:

Boy is this a TOUGH One.

Joe, Jeff, Jay, Al, Drew, Ray, ALL Chris', Eric, Shawn, Matt, et all...Yet here are my choices...

MJ: You'd be an idiot not to consider him, every single charcter he's handle has become a NWC LEVEL CHAMPION...EVERYONE! When he's on, he's quite possibly unbeatbale. The only thing slowing him down is his proness to disappear...As seen with Britton, yet none the less one of the GREATS!

Lee Clark: You're damn right! No one has gotten as many NWC Title shots as him, and no one has EARNED every single one. He battled through months of people telling him his stuff was boring and drab, and be time and time again has climbed the Mountain to get the respect he deserves. He's back there now with the Mercs, and probably soon with Clark. Definatly a CONTENDER....His only knock AGAIN is haven't holding the gold.

That's it for me, I would have nominated myself more, but that's tackless, and as Sodoms handler said, I'm an HBK rip off ;-) :-/ :-O
