Akria says, "I will never become a DeathRunner agian."
"And why not?" snaps Xallas his expression hardening. "You were great, Akira. What is so great about life as a PureHeart? Come back." He holds out the goblet of blood to Akira, who turns his head away, eyes squeezed shut.
"Damnit, Xallas, please don't do this!" He says, his voice shaking. Xallas is satisfied to hear Akira beg, but not satisfied enough.
"Why do you torture yourself, Akira?" he asks. "Why do fight the bloodlust every moment of every day? A thousand years ago you would have gladly savoured the blood of a PureHeart."
"A thousand years ago I was blind to the fact of how horrible killing innocent creatures really is," Akira says.
Xallas frowns. "And what good did that fact ever do anyone?" Then he looks Akira in the eye and says more softly, "It cretainly didn't help your little friend. What was her name? Ah, yes. Kirenna..." Akira's fur bristles madly.
"She was INNOCENT," he growls, his voice still shakeing. Xallas smiles, knowing he had struck a chord.(sp?)
