Dear Jon
I am sure that everybody is very pleased that DACS are going to support the 2002 Championship.
The Championship needs to attract new blood all the time, here are a few thoughts on this:
1. We need a higher profile in the comics and more contact with the reporters. To my knowledge there has only been one or two mentions of ARP, drivers or cars in the club news in Autosport this year, they need feeding regularly. The reporter for Brands in about 3 lines said it was an overlong race. From where I was standing there was a race long dice at the front and a Class B runner coming from the back with 3 finishing within tenths. They need enthusing!
(Does everybody hand in a good commentary sheet?)
2. Back to licences - I think that people should be judged on their experience and then looked at race by race to make sure that they can handle it. Under the present rules Paul would not have been able to enter and would have gone to another series
3. Anybody joining the series should be welcomed and encouraged. Everybody but particularly members of the committee should make sure of this.
4. The BBQ at Coombe was a great success, this should be repeated, perhaps at every double header
5. Winners (of both classes) should be celebrated, everybody should know where to go if they are in a top 3 place and be presented properly. If the circuit won't do it then we should.
6. Sponsors should get a mention as often as possible, all competitors should make it their job to know what they do. (with a little bit of help, Jon!)
7. Karen and Mark have done a wonderful job with this website. We would be prepared to contribute a (small!) sum to help make it a priority to get the results on to the site as soon as possible after the race
8. How about the committee being at least partially elected?

This is an excellent series and just needs a few touches to make it a lot better.
John and Paul
