Mikhal pelts up the hall and into his parents' room, a blue firelizard clinging to his arm. "Mother! Father! I got a firelizard!" he yells happily.

They look up in surprise, and his mother smiles at him. "Why, congratulations, dear," she says. "He's lovely."

"What'd you name him?" his father asks.

"Raz!" Mikhal says happily, stroking the 'lizard. Raz looks around with whirling green eyes and chirps happily. "Come on, Raz, I'll show you my room," Mikhal says as he enters his bedroom.

Lord Gloris and Lady Ygrina,
My sister Akema and i have both Impressed dragons at Igen (I bronze Chuth and Akema green Laffranth). Needless to say, we will not be returning to Keroon. Angele, who also lived in your Hold, has Impressed blue Eirath, and also will not return. She says to tell you she has blue eyes, blue hair, and a blue dragon. We thank you for your hospitality to short time we resided here, and wish you all long life and good fortune.

Akema bursts into her brother's room. -- Akema, Wista, Teagan, & Kestor, 15:59:43 12/18/01 Tue
"Teagan!" she shouts. Wista, perched on her shoulder, lets out a loud chirp.

Teagan looks up. "I'm right here, you don't have to yell," he tells her. Kestor chirps back at Wista, and the two firelizards flutter over to the mantlepiece and start chttering at each other.

Akema glances at them and giggles, the sits down on the bed by her brother. "Teagan, there's a clutch on the Igen Hatching Sands! Do you want to go and try out as Canidates?" There is a strange, almost desperate sparkle in her eyes.

He raises an eyebrow. "Me? I thought you were the one who wanted to Impress." But he cannot hide the flicker of longing that crosses his face.

She grabs his arm and hauls him to his feet. "Come on, Teagan. Pack, we're heading to Igen Wyer!" She calls Wista back to her shoulder and bounds out the door.

Teagan rolls his eyes, then grins. He shoves a few things into his bag, and call Kestor. With the brown perched on his arm, he races after Akema.

(OOC: They'll be back if they don't Impress.)

Forgetting about the bed, he runs into it and starts to fall. He catches himself with his left hand, and bites back a swear word. Slowly, the boy sits down on the bed, careful not to disturb the sleeping brown firelizard sprawled along his right arm. One-handed and without looking, he searches his bag for a small jar of scented oil he knows is in there. He pulls it out and opens it, then dips his fingers in and smears some on his firelizard's back.

"I hope you don't mind smelling like a perfumed lady for a few days, Kestor," he murmurs, rubbing the oil into the 'lizard's hide. "This was Mother's; I salvaged it from the old house, I can't remember why anymore." The lizard chirps softly in his sleep.

He knocks on the door of the Lord Holder's office, and waits paitently. I wonder where Akema is? he thinks, hoping his sister will arrive soon. She is much better than he at speaking to people, especially important ones.
