Subject: Fighting Thread

Everything else melts away as the brown and his rider swoop through the formation, watching for any Thread strands the other wings might have missed. There! Virth pulls to the right sharply, trying not to change his level too much as he goes. A roar emits with the rush of flame, charring the slithering Thread to benign black fragments. Looking the other way, the rider taps a warning.

"Virth! Look out!" Swerving, the dragon stays in formation and flames again, his rider marveling at the horizontal rightness of the operation. "The bronzes and greens have missed some. Be on the lookout, it might start coming fast." A cold twining piece nearly brushes his arm before he flattens himself, whispering to the big brown to put on a bit of speed. "And it will always slip past someone!" Keeping his eyes trained on the front, the temporary Wingleader silently prays that he can keep things together and do them right as he and his lifemate fight off the scourge of the invading Thread.
