Subject: .: Numbweed :.
In reply to: R'kese~Hakath 's message, "Thread= ouch!" on 19:00:56 02/26/02 Tue

Zeth and Arth quickly relayed Hakath's message to their riders.

{{Where is numbweed, M'rek? It is sorely needed!}}
~~Zeth. Ask Dalleth for coordinates.~~
{{Coordinates?}}
~~Ask him what Healer Hall looks like. Anywhere that might have numbweed!~~

Puzzled, the bronze did as told.

[[Dalleth?]]
[[What??]]
[[Numbweed... M'rek wants to know co...coordinates to somewhere that has numbweed.]]
[[Eastern has a supply...]]

The brown supplied Zeth with exact coordinates, and the bronze then turned to his rider. {{What now?}} ~~Take me there, Zeth.~~ {{We're not supposed to fly yet!}} ~~Just do it. I don't think there's numbweed here.~~

The bronze, worried for his rider but utterly unaware of the true danger, gave a few clumsy flaps of his wings in an attempt to fly. It took him a few tries, but at last he was aloft. He barely understood how he was going to do it, but Zeth visualized Eastern, the picture given to him by Dalleth, and was about to enter between when a draconic bugle cut through the noise above and below.

[[Zeth! Brother, what are you doing?]]
[[I am going
between, Arth. M'rek wishes me to.]]
[[We're not even supposed to fly yet! ZEEEEETH!]]

But Arth's cries are in vain. Zeth entered between. The grounded bronze prepared to release a dirge, but... J'rek gave a frown along with his lifemate's mental one. There was no sadness from Zeth. They were safe? How could they be? The pair sat in trembling suspense for a full ten minutes before a small bronze form reappeared in the skies above. Arth reared and spread his wings, bugling a relieved welcome to M'rek and Zeth.

[[You are alive!]]
[[What else would I be?]]
[[No more... but... you got numbweed?]]

Sometimes, M'rek's chivalry astounded even his twin, who should have been used to it by now, after all their sixteen... was it seventeen now? Turns together. Still, risking your life when you could just ask an older rider... crazy! J'rek hurried forward to hug his brother, but M'rek shoved him aside.

'Not now, Jar,' M'rek said, in his haste forgetting the eliding of their names. 'I've got to get numbweed to the rider.'

M'rek made his way to R'kese, dipping his hand into the pot of numbweed he held. 'Just hold still...' ~~Is Hakath calm?~~ he asked Zeth. {{Yes.}}

[[Hakath, make sure your rider stays calm, please,]]
Zeth told the other bronze.

M'rek slathered numbweed on the bronzerider's shoulder and cheek, marveling at the sensation caused in his fingers by numbweed coming into contact with his skin. Absolutely no feeling. Odd... He gave a lopsided grin, then moved off, setting the pot of numbweed nearby while he began to bag firestone.

J'rek wanted to say something, but now didn't seem the time. He resumed bagging firestone, all the while casting a glare at M'rek. Why... he could have killed himself, the little cheek!...
