Author: S'sha and Kylith
Subject: Eeeeevil Threeeeead.

*The glimmering Igen dragon bellows a brassily raw challenge to the falling death. Kylith surges forward, S'sha hanging on lightly and laughing as the wind blows a tangle of Thread under the higher wings, straight towards her. Ducking, the queen says before her rider can order, slipping under the tangle and to the right as S'sha flames it, laughing all the while. In a more griping tone, the dragon comments, You enjoy this so much. If I didn't know better -and I'm not sure I do- I'd say you like this better than my Flights... or even Hatchings. A fierce smile that doesn't reach her steel-grey eyes does betray the Weyrlady's passion to kill Thread, but it doesn't make her reckless. Between! she shouts as a clump falls from above, Kylith disappearing with the silvery stuff less than an armspan above her rider's head. They reappear in an instant, S'sha pulling the 'trigger' on her 'thrower to catch a too-close tangle. Weaving and dodging as she'd not done in a while, the golden beast bespeaks Ginny's lifemate. Areyeth! This fall is odd. The wind is against us. Warn everyone! Kylith would do it herself, but as the wind was blowing from her right-front, many unattended Threads were headed her way. Watch it, Kylith! the goldrider yelps as she ducks char. You watch it, rider mine. Ash does not kill. Gritting her teeth and now soot-blackened, S'sha flames another clump. Kylith abruptly drops several meters and her rider twists in the straps, barely catching a thick tangle before it fell on her lifemate's broad wing. "I don't like this!" 'Sha yells, half to herself, as the gold rises again and reforms her part of the V formation. Nor do I. The sudden trumpet of pain shocks the rider and instantly, they are between. Counting her heartbeats, S'sha groans. Kylith, dear heart! Where are you scored?! The queen sounds pained in answering, My haunch. It is not bad. I can continue. The golden pair erupt into empty space, still in their space though. Good. Igen needs to see their queen fighting with them. Gives them morale. I hope. Abruptly again, the pair vanish, this time S'sha who was scored. You realized the pain before I did, the rider mutters wryly, mentally scowling at the agony in her left shoulder. It falls wrong. We are at a disadvantage. Reappearing once more, S'sha keeps her steely eyes on the sky. Shard it. Some expert I look, getting scored so blatantly. And you! It's my fault you're scored. The queen has no time to disagree as the pair agilely dodges another flying-sideways tangle. The Igen dragon blasts a mental warning to all riders. This Thread Falls wrong! The wind blows it at an angle! Watch yourselves! Gritting her teeth, S'sha flames another section of evenly falling Thread as Kylith swoops to meet it.*
