K'kim glances around, his light green eyes making sure that his equipment was in place, as Haith's powerful wings carried the up, to flame the menace. As orange and gold tongues of flame lick out, charring the Thread to black ash. Haith lets out an eerie keening as a rider falls, and K'kim saddens as he hears it.
Who?

Southern seems to be losing riders every Fall.
~Always browns too.~
Haith dives down, charring another clump, then upwards again, as Threads change from silver strands to gray-black flecks all around them. Unseen by K'kim, a few strands land on his knee, the searing pain ripping through his leg.
BETWEEN!
The numbing blackness freezes the Thread, and comforts K'kim's leg, though the rest of him shivers, even through the thick wherhide. Haith returns to Fall, flaming the onslaught of Thread with renewed energy, pulses racing, as Thread is charred to nothing.
