The Eastern Weyrlings came pelting towards the pairs, each struggling to be the first there. When Kalya was the first to arrive, they skid to a halt with rueful grins on their faces.

'Too late, as usual,' commented J'rek.

'Your fault,' Yriu retorted. 'Here,' she said to Alara and T'ren. 'We too brought firestone for you, if you've a need for more.'

While the others argued amongst themselves about the where the fault lay, the over-efficient Yriu held out her sack of firestone with a bit of a satisfied grin twitching at her lips.
