Subject: Iron Butterfly

On Sept.6,1969 I had the pleasure of seeing the Iron Butterfly at the legendary Swing Auditorium! I was 12 years old then and was escorted by my dad. Along for the ride was my buddy,Kevin Woodward. Did I walk right through the door with a reel to reel recorder? YEP! The opening act was Blues Image who's lead singer was Mike Pinera. Ironically,Mike joined the IB in 1969. Another irony:I worked as IB's promo/PR guy from 85-89. During this time,the very line-up that I saw in 1969(ingle,bushy,brann,dorman)did a reunion tour. Amazing how things turn out,ain't it?
