Western Mountains

Over in the west this territory is concentrated around a large lake – which the river runs through on it’s journey down to the beach.
Plenty of foliage and shrubbery, and a good supply of water.
But like in every territory of the mountains, storms will occur. And unlike the others, this land does not have any shelter – when a storm hits the herd must escape to the meadow quickly. Do not stay to hide in the woods that surround the lake – this is a fatal mistake.
A lone mountain lion patrols this land, so be careful of your foals.

    ++Stopping, he ignores the pounding rain and glances around. The blackened tt seems so beautiful to him, yet ugly. His heart has been split in two... His father was an evil and mother was a neutral. Abbondoned at birth, he had been forced to survive the weather... and dangers.
    Sunlight still doesn't come. The rain keeps pounding, and his thoughts travel further, deep into his heart.
    He had lived in a good tt but had been chased out, the goodies believing he was a spy. Scowling, he relized that evil was the only place that he could bare, understand, absorb. The only place he could survive.
    A bolt of lightning ran across the sky, it's crooked point reaching to it's full extent. The frightening weather so natural to him, he trots down from the cliff he stood upon into the feild where the horses stay. He glances around, looking for one with a heart as tarnished as his, but none prevailed themselves.
    The horses take no notice of the new stallion. They continue to graze. Not bothering to make a scene, he travels into a seperate corner of the tt and relaxs, a thing he hadn't been able to do for quite some time.
    Another bolt of lightning lite up the area. His silver coat shimmering, his muscles rippling beneath his coat, he smiles at the few panicking horses. But then again, a horse would panick if his or her life was in danger. Would they not?
    Clouds bumbed angainst eachother restlessly, a clap of thunder booming over the land.
    And his thoughts grew darker.
    His father, a decendant of Satan, had left him like this, just like this, half dead, empty of feeling and weakened. He had snorted, and with a bolt of lighting he was gone.
    His mother wouldn't have allowed it... If she was alive. His father had killed her before, to get rid of the things that were holding him down. His wife and child.
    His mother was a shy sort. She would have never married her father, if it hadn't been for the deal. The deal that had changed her life and his life forever....
    Another bolt of lightning brought him out of his thoughts. Not of fear for the lighting, the lightning had guided him. Protected him. Helped him through life. Not being able to put it into words, he shook his head, mane flying askew. Lifting his damp body from the mud, he stands, looking around the territory, looking into it's soul... Looking into the soul of the place...

    After claiming this land as her own she looks around it, intense emotions sweeping over her - her land. Hers!
    Still tired, not having yet given the sleep her body screamed out for, but she did not wish to rest - not stay and sleep when there was exploration of an alien, unknown land to be busied with.
    Her body starved of rest, and collapsing point was near - grudgingly she would comply. Finding a resting point, where she would be surrounded in darkness and safe from danger, she lays down, sleeping.

    When fully reenergized, and refreshed from her sleep, the mare awakens. She leaps back to her feet, suddenly alert and cautious that danger may be close by. Only when convinced she was safe does she move out of the woods.
    With a sense of excitement, curiosity and adventure, she rears up, and then gallops off - exploring this terrain, and her new home.

    The mare snorts, her body was soaked with sweat - the outcome of the long journey she had endured.
    Her legs were beginning to become unsteady and tremble - she had been running for too long, and was near to exhaustion.
    However, she still continues running - heading towards the lake. Reaching her destination she lowers her head to the water, and drinks slowly from it - a great relief for she was at dehydration.
    Whilst drinking from the lake she keeps a sharp watch about her; although she was tired, and desired rest, she would regardless summon her strength and remaining energy to make a quick escape - she had a tough spirit, and was capable of enduring this suffering.
    She also had an unbroken spirit, although tired and weary, if a stallion were to try to claim her he would not simply be able to herd away - if he truely wanted this mare he must work for it, for she was free spirited and would not be so easily contained as others.
