How do we maximize the impact of technology in education?

It has been at least fifteen to twenty years (that I am aware of) since personal computers entered the classroom. As technology has changed so has the classroom. With the passage of legislation that enables "all" children to a public education to classrooms in your living room via the computer screen, we have been striving to maximize the technology available at the time. Do we maximize it? Certainly not all the time, however there are "some" that do for the specific needs they have. Teachers (with the changes over the years) are facing a more diverse population than ever, we need to maximize the technology available to us. That is the teacher with one computer needs to find ways to "maximize" the use of the one system he/she has. Perhaps that means automating the grading system, writing letters to parents, tqapping the internet, or designating it for the student with a specific need. Whatever the needs are to the teacher/student then that could be the goal thereby "maximizing" technology in his/her classroom.
