When I was in graduate school, all of my professors required a journal entry every week as part of our assignments. At first, I hated it and thought they were using them to see how little we knew about the subject (not a littlte paranoid, am I?). Anyway, I suddenly began to truly reflect upon what I was learning and to see how these journal entries helped me to make connections and retain information. I loved it and really understood how powerful journal writing could be. Because of the lack of time - what else - I rarely use journal writing anymore. I think this would be a great time to restart...
