His instense scrutiny was enough to cause any weaker woman to back away, flee, but Mellony stood sturdy beneath his gaze, her own searching his face just as carefully. and then his hand was on her chin, lifting her face, and he was lowering those delicious looking lips to her's. Mellony was used to men being rough... in comparison, Jayne was downright gentle, careful not to push her further than seh was willing to go.

Involuntarily, she stepped into him, her front pressing against his as she slid her hands up his arms, to his bicepts, fingers digging in slightly as hse opened up to him. One hand slid higher, to rest behind his neck. She groaned softly, then broke the kiss, blinking her vision clear. I don't know if it's safe.... She whispered hoarsely, hoping he would understand that while she may have wanted him more than she had ever wanted anything else... seh would do nothing, absolutely nothing, to harm her infants. Maybe... well, maybe he could stay with her tonight? the thought had barely entered her mind before it was slipping past her lips. Don't leave me tonight Jayne...
