I think she already is. By being the mother of the "Miracle Child", she has a place in the supernatural history books. Whether that kid is good or evil is another matter. I'm leaning towards good, but TM may just decide to make the kid evil, just for the heck of it.

Considering that the vampire cult used the term: Miracle Child, maybe that's not something we should overlook. After all, Jesus was born out of what is a scientific Miracle: a Virgin Birth. In the Buffy/Angelverse, Angel's son is being born out of two vampires, generally considered impossible.

To tell you the truth, for the last couple of days, I've been thinking that it would be interesting if Darla's human name in 1609 was Mary, not for the Virgin, but for the prostitute, Mary Magdalene. As a prostitute in her human life, Darla was cast out of society. What if, in her life as a vampire, she was brought back into society as a mother?

Darla never did get that true second chance. It was cut off before she could even get into it. It would be interesting if the writers allow Darla to take the second chance in being a mother to her son. After all, how many times can one character die before it gets old? At this rate, Darla's died more times than Buffy. In 1609, she died from the Master's bite. In 1997, she died from Angel's stake. In 2000, she died from Dru's bite. No wonder why Darla's so disaffected by Earth, she's too busy being killed off.
