Fire bombs away!

LOL.

Okay, my thoughts on "Dad."

Well ......... I was disappointed. Not upset or anything, just sort of "oh well, it was great while it lasted" in regards to the show as a whole.

I was hoping my thoughts on the show were wrong and that the show would turn around, but I'm not going down that same path I did back during season 2.

This show's not going to become what was great about it before, at least for/to me.

This episode highlights some of the problems with this season:

-Fred and Gunn. Still very underused and still not developed enough. I didn't see their point in this episode since well they really didn't do anything but give some reactionary lines.

-The Host. I can take him in small doses but tonight was just too much. Now he's going to live with the FG? Oh man. On top of that the Host has to make Angel realize that his baby is not a mission, but someone to cherish and realize the truth of. Hmmm, why does Angel, the one that never expected to experience fatherhood have to be reminded of "taking in the moment?" This just sort of signifies to me that again we have to bring a character a notch down to give another character a purpose.

-Cordelia. Let's just say I really wish Fred got the chance to speak up about something to Angel. She was there during Darla's pivotal scene in "Lullaby" and well where was she in this one? That's my own personal nitpick there though.

-Holtz. It's final. I simply don't care. Yeah, his family died at the hands of Darla and Angelus, but *yaaaaawwwwwnn.*

"Are we there yet?"

-Not!Holland. Could we have Holland back, please?

-The arc. I think the writers are trying to pull an X-Files like they did last season. For instance we didn't know what W&H had planned long term wise in using Darla to get to Angel or what other secrets they had up their sleeves, even though all of that development ended up being smoke in the end. This season the mystery is all about what this baby means and how did this baby come to be among two vampires, but for the love of everything, could I please have one tiny little morsel of *something* to get me to understand what the point of the child is? Believe me, I think he's terribly cute, but this is episode 10 here, practically half way through the season, and I still don't understand the point of this arc.

We have the FG studying the whereabouts of this baby ... oh wait a minute, they really haven't all that hard. W&H don't know much of anything about the baby either yet they keep studying their tails off. Shajan won't give us one hint either.

*snooooooze*

"Dad" to me was all action and filler, but very little to no reaction from previous events. Where was Angel's concern about Holtz coming to attack him and the gang? There was practically no reaction or shock on the FG's part in regards to Darla's death either.

Oh well. I think from here on out I'll just read the feeds, but stop watching. If I hear of something *interesting* or what not, I'll watch that particular episode but I just don't have much interest in this show like I used to.

Don't take this post the wrong way though, guys. I'm not upset with the direction of the show. I got all of that out way back from my frustration of the second half of season 2, so I have no frustration left, only disappointment and it truly saddens me to see the show like this.

Then again, *real* life is much more important.

Blue
