Well,as jas said, everyone will someday have to experience suffering of the same degree though in a different form. I can tell you that you won't be alone because many ppl close to you would have experienced a similiar situation. From my experience, as much as you had hoped that it won't happen to you, you can't prevent it and what I've learnt is that while other ppl are suffering around you, help them see the brighter side of themselves so that when it happens to you, you can too speak to yourself hence be able to handle it. One way I found was to write to yourself at moments of achievement and moments of reflection while you're down, so that when the rocket hits you, you can go back and regenerate yourself. Although it doesn't completely solve the problem, it helps you recover much faster and lets you get on with the other things.

I totally agree with Jas, friends are so precious in times of suffering. I went through some stressful times a few weeks ago, and I don't think I would have been able to cope with it if it wasn't for some of you! To know that my friends are behind me and supporting me, to have someone who listens, and lends a shoulder to cry on, and to have people pray for you... it makes the hardest times bearable. Thank you... it meant SO much more to me than words can express.

And Jesus is definitely one friend who will always be there to help carry our burdens! He's always there ready and willing to help us, but it is up to us whether we want His help or not. Remember that phrase that Jas and Yunnie wanted us to memorise once? 'Ask and you will receive, Seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be open to you' (something like that) =D.
