The dark colt's ears stood erect hearing a faint cry. He took off at a dead run, hooves kicking up the stones from about the mountains he'd been exploring. Tail head high, nostrils flared, ivory horns stark white catching the light as the illusion upon them had faded completely.

Into the forest, he crashed heaving his chest against lower branches that would not let him pass and jumping smaller stuff. Ears perked and directed upon that one sound he heard. He whinnied and snorted not slowing down until he heard her again.
