In reply to: Chris 's message, "IMSCF Syndrome ("I'm Spanish-Chinese-Filipino" Syndrome) in America" on 01/16/02 8:55pm PST

Hi...i am a Filipina living in the Netherlands and i have many Filipina girlfriends in this part of the continent and as far as i have seen and heard, i have not encountered a Filipino/Filipina who's not proud of being one. In fact, we are often seen here as Malaysian, Indonesian, Chinese, Thais, and as many other asian race and we always are very proud to react and tell them that we are Filipinas. What I often consider as a worse experience is be outcasted by my very own country men who thinks they are better than i am because they are probably materially loaded or lighter in skin tone or probably in their own interpretation, educated and pioneers in this part of the world.

I enjoyed reading your message and the others that follows - very interesting and informative. Well, let the Filipinos who live in Hawaii call themselves as Hawaiians. As for us Filipinos who live here in California can call ourselves as CALIFORNIANS. (NT)NO BIG DEAL! NO MATTER HOW HARD THEY HIDE THEIR REAL IDENTITY, THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT!03/ 4/04 11:30am PST
