Subject: Botticelli vs. da Vinci

Personally, I cannot decide whose style I enjoy more, I admire aspects of each artists work. Botticelli's work deals with more mythological figures, which make his work, to me, to be more interesting to look at. Since the figures are not ones that we typically see in art today, the paintings allow the audience to perhaps think slightly more about the meaning behind each figure. I also like how in The Allegory of Spring Botticelli has depicted several scenes of action in one painting. Da Vinci's work, from what we have seen in the textbook, seems to deal more with Christian figures, such as is seen in the Last Supper. I find da Vinci's use of darker colors, as well as the "smokey" affect of his art to be very beautiful to look at. One similarity I have noticed between the Allegory of Spring and the Last Supper is the artists ability to depict several scenes of action in one piece, as mentioned above. However, I feel that da Vinci is better at portraying individual emotions, as scene in closer observances of the disciples faces.
