Violetta vs. Carmen

I think Violetta and Carmen are exact opposites. Violetta is more of an innocent person. She is prepared to give up everything for Alfredo, and starts to so she can pay for them to live in the country. She even gives up her love for him. Although she never stops loving him, she pretends to just to help him and his family out. No matter how much it hurts her, she still does it because Alfredo's dad tells her that it will help Alfredo's sister in her marriage. Carmen on the other hand appears to do everything she can to hurt Don Jose. She drives him crazy by playing with his heart and then messing with his head. I think Carmen is more like Alfredo's father. They both do whatever they can to help out what they're truly interested in. Carmen does it for herself and Alfredo's dad does it for his daughter. I think if Violetta had to be compared to someone from the opera Carmen, she'd mostly be like Don Jose. They both went head over heels for someone, and did everything they could for them. The only difference is Don Jose became a psycho and killed the woman he loved and Violetta died... finally. =)
