Subject: Violetta vs. Carmen

Violetta and Carmen are very similar if you think about it. They both use what they have to an advantage. They basicaly sell their bodies out except Violetta does it for money so she can live and Carmen just does it so she can get what she wants. Violetta and Carmen are very different personality wise. Violetta seems like such a nice person. She leaves all she has just to be with the one she loves and sells everything she owns to support them. Then out of the respect she has for Alfredo's father, she leaves him so his sister can have a happy marrige.....what kind of girl would do that??.....a nice one obviously....and then there is Carmen. I really dont like her. She is too concited and has no respect for other people's feelings. She uses her body to get what she wants out of Don Jose and then as soon as she gets it she leaves him for Escamillo. She is not at all like Violetta in that respect and that is why I like Violetta better and I have to say "La Traviata" is one of my most favorite operas so far.
