After reading the Hays Code i was amazed at some of the rules and regulations which were specified in it. First of all, in writing it, they were so careful as to make sure there was nothing which could be read into or interpreted in a way other than how it was meant. It was obvious that the rules were meant to be followed exactly as they were written. I dont think the Hays Code could be put into practice today. Not only would the movies be extremely lacking due to the content which we are used to but there would also be a great deal of protest as a result. Viewers and producers would immediatly say that their freedoms to produce and watch movies free from restriction was being taken away from them.
