Subject: 20th Century art

I have never had any appreciation for abstract modern art. Even our "enlightening" trip to the MET museum could not change my attitude. Picaso is art. Mandrian is not art. Lines and squares do not constitute anything for most people. My opinion is: if I have to think and squint to figure out what something "means" it does not appeal to me, and is not art. I have great appreciation for Picaso, since he really is an artist, and the works that he has completed. There is nothing about sqaures and big blotches on canvas that stimulates my imagination. Architecture is the only art form that I believe has taken a turn for the better in the 20th century.
