Subject: Dawn speculation *SPOILERS* for Bargaining and S5

Alright, this is mostly my hare-brained theory, but hear me out. I think Dawn is going to be the next slayer. And I have proof (sort of) to back me up.

1) Notice that in the promos, Dawn is pictured with a stake and says something to the effect of "It's up to me, now."

2) What makes a Slayer? I'm going to say it's in their blood. Special healing powers, genetic differences . . .all blood related. Dawn has Buffy's blood, that was made very clear in "The Gift."

3)Buffy AND Dawn fall of the tower at the end of "Bargaining". Take a closer look. Dawn does not land completely on top of Buffy, but rather next to her. She is not hurt. She hasn't even had the wind knocked out of her. This is understandable in Buffy, but how did Dawn do that?

4) Take another look at the episode where Dawn tries to resurrect Joyce. Doc says she has strong DNA
*** I'm going to give this additional point. You may be saying right now, wait, if Dawn's the Slayer, how come we haven't realized it by now?
Check this out: Buffy wasn't discovered until she was fifteen. A year older than Dawn during season five. Also, no slayer has died to alert the council that they should be looking. Rather Dawn was mystically "cloned" so to speak. And finally? With all the emphasis on protecting Dawn, she has never been allowed to fight vamps. Or even get close to one other than Spike. Any instances in the past that might have occured, don't count. Those are all false memories. How can she or anyone else find out that she's a slayer until she has the chance to fight?

5) Last Point: Michelle Trachtenburg said in an interview on E! that Dawn's powers as the Key were very much kept in secret last season. She then went on to say that any *powers* or non-powers she might now have will also be kept secret.

Now, you can say that I think too much, because I do. And you're probably thinking my cheese done slipped off my cracker. But keep in mind, SMG's contract is up at the end of season 7, and Joss has mentioned keeping the series going with Dawn as the key player. (Please excuse the pun.) Also, we all know that Joss gets real in-depth with hidden meaning and symbolism in his scripts. So what do you guys think?
