Subject: Walks in Author: Katie [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 04:38:50 10/11/01 Thu Sees the beautiful mares and goes to the tack room and comes back with Flames of Flirtation's halter. Sees the fiery mare and smiles. Eases open the stall door and walks in, talking softly all the while. Closes the door and places one hand on Flirt's coat. Runs her hand along it until she gets to her head. The mare throws her head up, but Katie talks soothingly and as soon as her head was lowered just enough she slipped on the halter. She opened the stall door and led the mare out of it. She kept sidestepping, so it was hard to get the crossties on. "Easy, Flirt. Whoa, girl..." She kept talking softly, running her hand over the mare's pelt as to calm her. She finally got the crossties on and went into the tack room. Came back with the tack box and took out the curry comb and started to work on the fiesty mare's coat. She switched to the dandy brush a little later. She worked in rythum to the mare's coat. She took the soft brush and wiped off the mare's face, and then took the pick and cleaned her hooves. When she was finished she patted the mare on her side and led her back into her stall, glad she was somewhat calmer now. Then she went to the next horse and started to work...
