Oppo mid tries to waltz it out forward and BAM! Good telly. He could job share the role with Maynard. Also a good watch.

Either that or he plays a receiver's role getting the ball from Titch. He has excellent acceleration and pace and has shown an ability to assess and choose the right option inside 50. Granted the last is from a wingman's play rather than someone coming out of the CB but still.

Pure inside mid needs to be more than bullocking though. Yeah, he and JDG would wear down the smaller midfields but the better midfields would sort them out quickly enough if that's all they got. Inside mid needs strength, courage, durability, vision in heavy traffic, elite decision making at speed, reflexes to match, one-touch handling and elite disposal to the outside. It's a pretty underrated role. Beau ticks a few of those boxes and I'm not sure if you can even train up some of the others.

Pity he doesn't have the tank or the desire to use his left even once every month or two. We've seen him win contests and speed away on a beautifully put together 100 metre play resulting on a simple shot on goal a few times. Imagine him steaming up and down the wing all day, winning contests by brute force and tackling. Actually tackling! Wingmen have been getting away with too much since Pants left us. Thinking they can just swan around all uncontested like, getting their 15 stats and thinking they deserve an AA blazer. Get Beau out there and put the fear of God up 'em.

Look.... if it meant he could iron out Chad Warner, then sure. Centre bounce. There's a flog who, while a very decent footy player, thinks he's a level or two above. Always yapping. Thinks he's Jack Ginnivan. I thought Bloods culture was supposed to weed out that sort of wanker.
