He is the stand out , early career, selection success ( and that’s not to suggest he is the finished product)
- the boy is either genetically gifted or he has done the physical work to equip him for this competition which calls for power, speed, skill and judgment
- he is naturally very quick
- at times his relevant skill gifts are exceptional
- his footy and team orientated intelligence is ( at times) the stuff of dragging 90,000 people to their feet in admiration

Now in the GF last year Brisbane had a couple of older players who did just that too and Bobby Hill lifted his rating on the big day , as did JDG . It’s the mix of elements which enables a powerful forward like Cameron to win possessions evade or break free of powerhouse defenders like Bruz and IQ ….but Brisbane has a mix of such types with McLuggage (26) , Zorko, McCarthy,(30) etc plus others like Ashcroft to return and evolve . We hope that Sgt Shultz will be such a weapon for us but we need more players with that vital mix of match winning elements , such as McCreery CAN bring at times .

Can players like Harrison , McCrae, Sullivan, Bytel, Carmichael, or even the younger kids like Allen and Ryan or left field pick ups like Richards or Parker ( just to pluck some we hope will be on the fringes of selection) evolve into a match winners or team mates who might play a role which will get us into the top echelon of teams ?
With a batch of players nearing the end and others needing careful management , now is the time to make prudent selection decisions without jeopardising outcomes.
