Subject: My VFL comments in rough order of how much I liked em..

Jiath - love him….oozes AFL potential. Clean, athletic and smart. Lacks body strength and got pushed off the ball too easily a few times, but that’s a flaw easily fixed with a couple of summers in the gym

Allan - pretty good, he is getting the numbers, his hand passing is incisive and effective, needs to put on weight, and use his breakaway pace more

Macrae - he’s clean, he is silky he’s a ball magnet and a fantastic player at VFL level. But I worry about his intensity, the way he strolls, cruises, he can get away with that at VFL level, in the AFL I’m not so sure…

Markov - after a quiet first half really was a commanding presence in the second half…

AJ - step in the right direction today. Been in horrid form and started to get his marking going hopefully the ankle isn’t too bad

Dean - solid, some nice intercepts, but nothing really screamed AFL to me, and a couple of times he looked decidedly slow

Bytel and Sullivan - solid hardworking but I’m not seeing much AFL potential

Harrison - frustrates me. Another cameo game, his cameos had high impact today, looked very lively in the first half then disappeared..in his 3rd year in the system, ya got to do more than this!

Richards most improved player on the list.. very lively 1st half, unsighted in the 2nd

Carmichael - I didn’t think he played particularly well, but the kid knows where the goals are..

Begg - effort can’t be faulted tries his guts out, gets clearances, tackles like a mad man. But a big man has to take marks and compete in the air to give the midfield first use, and this part of his game is sadly lacking… and he is a 3rd year player now.. at this stage Max Lynch was starting to consistently beat VFL rucks.. Beggy lost the hitouts 11
