Everyone gets taught to "play to the whistle". If the whistle isn't there it's play on until told otherwise.

Further to that. The North player moved off his line immediately after marking the ball, he wasn't waiting for a whistle - it should have been play on.

Regardless... There was so many crap calls and non-calls all day that you can't just single one out as being the difference.

North blew a 54 point lead after playing the best footy they had played in years.

Collingwood pulled off a miraculous win after playing as poorly as they have in years.

Credit to North in the first half, credit to the pies in the 2nd half. End of story, in my opinion.

If either team *clearly* deserved to win over the other, then it wouldn't be so close that an umpiring decision could cost them the game
