Subject: Can only beat who's infront of you but...
In reply to: Pyeman WPBD 's message, "May 3rd 2024 Collingwood 12.13 defeated Carlton 12.7" on 22:05 30/06/24 Sun

Their last 5 games have been games they should have won if they're a genuine top 4 side.

Suns @ MCG - Suns are great at home this year but struggle away.

Port @ AO - Port are a rabble. Can be dangerous at their best but it's few and far between. A home ground advantage means nothing here, imo.

Essendon @ MCG - Essendon have been very overrated this year, imo. I still think they're a reasonable chance to miss finals. We *should* beat them this week if we're a serious team.

Geelong @ MCG - Not the same Geelong that was turning up 2 years ago. And they didn't have GMHBA to assist them in this game. Collingwood *should* beat them next week too.

Richmond @ MCG - Richmond could win the spoon this year

And before that they were beaten comfortably by Sydney at the SCG. Which isn't a surprise. Sydney beat most teams at the SCG.
They beat Melbourne by 1 point the week before that.
Lost to Collingwood the week before that.
Lost to Geelong the week before that.

Not saying Carlton aren't a good side. But they're not that scary. And it's far from a shoe-in that they win the grand final.

We beat them with key players missing earlier in the year. No reason we can't do it again. My guess is we will end up playing them in the quarter final. Whoever loses that game is unlikely to make it past Sydney in the prelim.
